Figtree Words and Music is a registered Australian company which produces and markets both music and books. Originally founded in 1994 by Richard Lawson for his own projects, the company is now branching out into a full-fledged record label. This year will see the release of the debut album by Blue Valentine, the new Lime Spiders' live album, the second Figtree Renaissance CD, and an anthology of singer-songwriter Cletis Carr’s previous five albums. Richard’s book of short stories, “Flora and Fauna” will soon be complete and a further set of 3 novellas are also in progress. At this point, Figtree is not accepting unsolicited CD’s or packages. Richard Lawson, CEO The drummer for the legendary Australian garage rock band the Lime Spiders, Richard Lawson released his first Figtree Renaissance CD in 1994. The disc garnered rave reviews in Australia and Europe, and the success has inspired Richard to continue the FR project, with a new album due out in late 2007. After a hiatus of 12 years running a successful farm/B & B business in the charming and beautiful countryside of Mudgee in regional New South Wales, he has now decided to renew this side of things. Richard has been building an immense store of new music and writings from a wealth of material which has been slowly simmering away for 15 years.
